A month ago Canisius ran Marist right out of the Koessler Center en route to a 91-58 win.

Saturday's showdown against the Red Foxes went differently as Marist snapped a nine game losing streak, topping the Griffs 76-74.

Canisius, which led by as many as 11 in the second half, saw that lead disappear in a matter of minutes.

The Rex Foxes used an 18-6 run to pull ahead 51-50 with a little more than 13 minutes remaining.

After exchanging buckets take a 55-54 lead, Marist pushed ahead for good, despite Canisius' best efforts

Phil Valenti, who dropped in 16, pulled the Griffs within 75-72 with a 3-pointer with a little more than two minutes to play.

A minute later, it appeared Valenti had tied the game at 75 with a corner three, but a video review showed his foot was on the arc, and he was credited with a two to make it a 75-74 game.

In the final seconds, the Griffs missed at the rim twice to tie the game and 76 and force overtime.

Canisius wraps up the regular season with back-to-back home games Friday against Fairfield and then Saturday against Saint Peter's.
