Blake Hamilton was up to his old tricks.  Akron wasn't caught sleeping this time around.

Meeting for the first time since the Mid-American Championship game in Columbus last March, the Zips improved to 8-0 in conference action and won it's 11th straight game in a thrilling 91-90 win over the Bulls on Saturday.

With less than a minute to play in the game, Hamilton hit a three to tie the game up at 90 with 15 seconds left on the clock.

The Zips answered on the other end, as center Isaiah Johnson drew a foul and hit one of two free throws to give Akron a 91-90 lead with two seconds left.

Willie Conner's last second heave didn't come close to striking the iron.

Hamilton finished with 33 points, while Conner and CJ Massinburg rounded out players in double-figures, chipping in with 19 and 14 points respectively.

With the loss UB drops to 9-12 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
