A massive wildfire is burning through thousands of acres of land, in Alberta, Canada.  The fire has destroyed homes and businesses.

Massive flames and plumes of smoke could be seen for miles. Firefighters are trying to fight this fire from the air.  They've used "air tankers" full of water.

Flames have forced thousands of people from their homes as part of a mandatory evacuation.

7 Eyewitness News spoke with Nancy-Lynn Clark, of Newfane, whose daughter lives in the danger zone.  She was forced to leave her house after seeing flames and smoke nearby.

"She has lost it.   She broke down.  She's very scared.  She said she couldn't see out their windows.  She had their dog with them and he was just panting...she looked behind her said everything was just about gone," Clark said.

Fire has not affected Clark's daughter's home yet.  She's fearful, however, the home will be destroyed.

This wildfire has been burning since Sunday.
