What's the last possible day to send out Christmas packages?

Here are the recommended holiday shipping deadlines for an expected deliver by December 25.

Domestic

  • December 15 for USPS Retail Ground
  • December 20 for First-Class Mail
  • December 21 for Priority Mail
  • December 23 for Mail Express Service

International/Military

  • The dates are different depending on where in the world you are sending your packages. Check the deadlines here.

FedEx gives you a little more wiggle room with lots of options for domestic shipping, ranging from December 12 all the way up to Christmas Day. Here are the last days to ship to Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico:

Puerto Rico

  • December 21 for FedEx International Economy
  • December 22 for FedEx International Priority
  • December 22 for FedEx International First
  • December 25 for FedEx International Next Flight

Canada

  • December 14 for FedEx International Ground (certain exclusions apply)
  • December 21 for FedEx International Economy
  • December 22 for FedEx International Priority
  • December 22 for FedEx International First
  • December 25 for FedEx International Next Flight

Mexico

  • December 20 for FedEx International Economy
  • December 21 for FedEx International Priority
