Crews had to use the Jaws of Life Saturday afternoon in the Town of Sardinia to save the driver of a tractor trailer hauling milk.
According to the Erie County Sheriff's Office, the tractor trailer was traveling on Route 16 near Genesee Street around 4pm when something caused it to tip and catch fire. Fire crews punctured a hole in its tank and used the milk to put out the flames.
The driver was taken to a nearby hospital using Mercy Flight.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
