A Rochester man was sentenced to 15 years behind bars Thursday for beating his mother to death in her Buffalo home.
Froilan Torres, 42, hit his mother, 57-year-old Gloria Rivera, in the head with a vase on October 9, 2016 inside her South Park Avenue home. She died shortly after.
Torres apologized for his actions in court before learning his fate. He pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter in April.
