BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The Genesee County Sheriff's Office is now handling an investigation into the accidental shooting of a hunter.
The incident happened Sunday just before 7:00 p.m. and was reported by the 41-year-old victim.
The victim told responding officers he was hunting at the time of the accidental shooting. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.
An investigation determined the round likely came from a group of individuals that had been shooting targets about 500 yards away.
Four individuals were interviewed but no charges have been filed.
The sheriff's office took over the investigation when it was determined the "shooter" was not hunting at the time of the incident.
