Another Western New York lawmaker is concerned that the Buffalo economy could be suffering because of continued wait times at the Peace Bridge.

New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan says he's going to be talking with Canadian officials to try and figure out a solution to traffic backups on the bridge. Ryan says it needs to be easier for visitors to travel across the border and come to Buffalo.

"Long lines and long wait times prevent people from traveling to events on the other side of the border", said Ryan. "If you are a Canadian who spent the day in Western New York you are going to think twice about doing that again if your return trip home has a two to three hour wait time."

Customs and immigration officials on the Canadian side of the border say they've been dealing with staff shortages this summer which have forced inspection booths to be closed even during busy travel times.
