Deputies say a road rage incident turned into a short pursuit and a DWI arrest.

Around 11 p.m., the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was called to assist Lakewood-Busti Police with a road rage incident where one vehicle was chasing another.

Deputies found the vehicles speeding down Baker Street in Busti. Both drivers refused to pull over for officers, but both eventually pulled over. After that, one of the drivers then sped away from the scene while deputies were speaking to the other driver.

Officers tracked the vehicle that left the scene to the Town of Carroll, where they arrested the driver, 41-year-old Eric Sohl of Frewsburg.

Sohl was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, DWI, failure to comply with a lawful order and refusing to submit to a roadside breath test.

He was taken to the Chautauqua County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Deputies did not say what, if any, charges the other driver is facing.
