An Orchard Park Police Department patrol car was struck by a tow truck Friday afternoon on Armor Duells Road at Power Road in Orchard Park.
At least one officer was in the vehicle at the time of the collision. The officer was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.
The officer was responding to a report of a pickup truck that had lost control and left the roadway, coming to rest in a ditch. At the same time, a tow truck was responding to the same call. Officers at the scene told 7 Eyewitness News that the tow truck operator was unable to stop the vehicle in time, and bumped into the officer's patrol car.
The pickup truck and patrol car were both towed from the scene. No other injuries were reported, and no charges had been filed at the time of the incident.
