An Olean man is sitting in Allegany County Jail after police say he entered a store in the Town of Granger and removed money from the cash register while the store owner was distracted.
Several days later, 43-year old Shawn Howard returned to the store. The owner recognized him and detained him until police arrived.
Howard is charged with Petit Larceny.
He was remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $5000 cash bail/$10,000 bond and is due back in Town of Granger Court on Monday night.
