An Elba mother, linked to a disturbing sex abuse investigation, is now free on her own recognizance.

Deborah Reed, 51, pleaded not guilty in Town of Elba Court Monday evening. Investigators claim she failed to provide adequate protection for the children in her home after learning of alleged past abuse by her husband.

Within the 10 pages of a deposition obtained by 7 Eyewitness News, a victim describes sexual abuse that began when they were just 7- or 8-years-old, allegedly at the hands of Deborah's husband, Scott Reed.

State police claim Scott sexually abused a family member under the age of 11 over the course of 10 years at a home in Elba on Log City Road.

In the victim's interview with New York State Police, the victim describes being touched by Scott in a sexual manner both above and underneath their clothing. The victim also recalls Scott pressing himself against them.

During Monday's arraignment, Deborah was ordered to refrain from any communication with people under the age of 18. A temporary order of protection was also issued, which runs through November 23, 2016.

Debroah is due back in court on June 22.
