A 22-year-old was sentenced Thursday for his involvement in a deadly crash last year.
Erie County District Attorney John Flynn says Robert Sutherland was speeding on Route 39 while high on marijuana on July 6, 2016. His car crossed the center line while driving on the road in the Town of Sardinia and he hit 22-year-old Sam Pagano, according to the DA.
Pagano was surveying the road and died after he was hit.
Sutherland is sentenced to six months in jail and five years probation. He pleaded guilty to vehicular manslaughter in January.
