WNED released a statement confirming legal disputes with Reading Rainbow's LeVar Burton have been resolved.
The dispute was the result of Burton's plans to reboot 'Reading Rainbow' on Netflix. His attempt to raise money for the project violated a license held by WNED.
According to WNED spokesperson Kathleen Young, after Reading Rainbow went off the air, the media company licensed several companies, including LeVar Burton's RRKIDZ, Inc.
Young told 7 Eyewitness News, "All terms of the settlement are confidential and WNED is not at liberty to comment further."
Burton's company, RRKIDZ, no longer licenses the Reading Rainbow brand from WNED.
WNED will move forward with the 'Reading Rainbow' brand.
