A man in the City of Tonawanda is charged with robbery after using a "Katana" sword to take another man's money during a night of smoking crack cocaine.

Tonawanda Police say William Harris III, 47, and two other individuals spent the night in an apartment on Fletcher Street. Harris told police they were "smoking crack."

According to officials, Harris and another man got into an argument after Harris says his bracelet was pawned earlier in the evening "to buy more crack cocaine."

Harris then allegedly got an 18 inch Katana sword out of a closet and used it to rob another man in the apartment for money, according to police.

Officials say the man who was robbed ran out of the apartment and called 911.

Officers say they found several crack pipes when they arrived at the apartment. One woman, Rachel Battaglia, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled substance after crack cocaine pipes ere found on her person.

Harris is charged with robbery, criminal possession of a weapon, grand larceny of a person, menacing and possession of a controlled substance, according to officials. He was arraigned and held for a future felony hearing. Bail was set at $2000.
