Jamestown fire November 20 caused by meth lab

The fire that Jamestown Fire Department responded to on Thursday, November 20 has been deemed to have been caused by the process involved in making methamphetamine.

The fire caused extensive damage to the second floor of the location. Investigators from the Jamestown Police Department are seeking to identify the individuals who were inside the apartment at the time of the fire.

The investigation revealed that an occupant was burned during the fire, but fled before the fire department and police arrived.

The investigation is ongoing, and the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and NYSP CNET are being assisted by the New York State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team.
