The Buffalo Police Department stepped up its presence in the city's entertainment district overnight Thursday with Thanksgiving Eve being one of the biggest party nights of the year.
Police engaged in foot patrols, car patrols and had a K-9 unit deployed along Chippewa Street in an effort to curb any issues before they occurred.
Volunteers from the Buffalo PeaceMakers organization aided the police in foot patrols.
There were no major incidents as of 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
