A former Niagara University hockey player will spend the rest of his life in prison for his role in a murder-for-hire plot.

A judge has sentenced Thomas Clayton to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Thomas was found guilty in the murder of his wife, Kelley Clayton, back in February.

Kelley Clayton was found beaten to death in the couple's Steuben County home in September 2015.

A man named Michael Beard was convicted for his role in the murder last year.
