Plow drivers in the Village of Farnham walked off the job Saturday night according to Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz.

"As reported to me, last night Farnham Mayor fired her public works chief which prompted plow drivers to walk off the job with plows running," tweeted Poloncarz Sunday morning.

Erie County Department of Public Works employees were sent to the village to move the village plows.

Erie County will plow the village roads until replacements for the workers who walked off of the job are replaced.

The incorporated area of the village is around one square mile and is located inside of the Town of Brant.

The village has a population of around 382 people according to the 2010 census.

7 Eyewitness News has reached out to the County Executive's Office for further comment.
