Buffalo firefighters are working to figure out what caused an early morning fire in North Buffalo.
Firefighters were called to a home on Ledger Street, off Hertel Avenue, about 6:00 a.m. Friday.
Crews say they were able to rescue a dog from the house, but it died a short time later.
Neighbors in the area say they plan on lending a helping hand to the family.
Firefighters say the fire did about $130,000 in damage.
Two people are now being helped by the Buffalo Red Cross.
It does not appear anyone was hurt.
