A Texas woman is hoping a simple device she created will stop parents from leaving their kids in hot cars.
Martha Duran created the Umbilical Cord after hearing about parents who lost their children after accidentally leaving them in cars on hot days. The simple device attaches to the driver's side door handle and the handle of the driver's side backseat door.
When the driver gets out of the car, they're stopped by the cord, which reminds them their child is in the back seat.
