"Buffalo's Most Amazing Race," an event presented by the Buffalo Bills, took place Saturday to raise money for the Salvation Army.

Each team participating had to raise at least $250, and only the top 50 teams that raised the most money were able to compete in the race. Teams that raised more money were given advantages in the competition - like head starts, or the option to skip tricky challenges, organizers explained.

The fundraising contest was modeled after the TV show "The Amazing Race," and had checkpoints where teams had to complete mental or physical challenges to progress. Those checkpoints included Zumba dancing, kayaking, foot-golf, and a three-legged race.

The race ended with a finish line celebration, and a $1,000 prize for the best team.
