Buffalo Police announced an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in Allentown.
Detectives have announced the arrest of 36-year-old Peter Pena of Buffalo and charged him with two counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Police say around 3:30 a.m. a 26-year-old Hamburg male was struck in the leg by gunfire near Allen and College Streets.
Police also say a 21-year-old Depew female suffered a superficial wound to the hand after being grazed by gunfire.
The 21-year-old female was treated and released from ECMC.
The 26-year-old male was listed in fair condition at ECMC.
Detectives believe the two victims were not the intended targets; they are investigating if the suspect and another male were engaged in a dispute when the suspect pulled out and fired his gun.
Buffalo Police say the presence of a police detail assigned to Allentown and other routine patrol vehicles in the area led to an arrest and recovery of a weapon within minutes of the incident.
