Given no time to thaw out, Buffalo firefighters battled flames at two different fires just hours apart on Buffalo's West Side.

The first fire, on Busti Avenue, broke out around 5 a.m. Monday morning and spread from one home to the next because of intense winds. Three firefighters were injured at the scene and treated for dehydration and slip and falls.

Hours later, flames were reported from the second story from a home on the 100 block of 14th Street. Firefighters were unable to determine how many people lived inside the home. No injuries were reported from the second fire.
