The Blackness Film Project hosted a 'Cease Fire Awareness' rally on Saturday on East Delavan Ave. in Buffalo.

The community rally was held to communicate a message of hope, brotherly love, and pride of race and community.

Award winning film producer and director, Korey Green, and The Blackness Project film team were inspired to plan a rally to address the current racial issues impacting America.

The Blackness Project is a feature length documentary film about culture and race from the African American perspective with the goal of bridging the gap between black and white Americans with in depth interviews on race.

The film was inspired from conversations about The Whiteness Project, which is a 2014 documentary discussing race and the perceived loss of white privilege by white Americans.

Korey said, "We have a desire to share voices that may not have been heard, to elevate the power of inclusion, and encourage serious conversations and community led solutions."

Mayor Byron Brown was also on-hand for the rally.
