Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly was excited and accepting of the New Era Field name change. He said there isn't a better fit than New Era given the company's rich history in Buffalo.

"I couldn't think of anyone better to be a part of this because it's local. When you hear major changes anywhere, you'd like it to stay local and New Era is local. And the naming rights: New Era. This is a new era, not only for the stadium but hopefully a new era for the Buffalo Bills," Kelly said shortly after Thursday's announcement.

"You'll always hold that special place in your heart for Ralph Wilson and Ralph Wilson Stadium and Rich Stadium, which is what it was called when I played. But, you know what? This is 2016. It's time for changes New Era. New Era cap. New era for Buffalo Bills. New era for the city. We're ready to go," he added.

"Every stadium does that," said former Buffalo Bill Steve Tasker. "We were a little behind the times and I'm glad that it was a company like New Era that did it and not a multi-national, although New Era's everywhere in the world there's a sport, New Era is there. But it's a Buffalo company."
