UB is making a big transportation change for the upcoming Academic year beginning August 28th and that includes dropping what many refer to as the "drunk bus".

“Each year we evaluate university operations and services based on feedback from students, faculty, staff and members of the community,” said Laura Hubbard, UB vice president for finance and administration.  “Based on this feedback, and on our ongoing discussions with members of the local community, we have adjusted our busing schedule."

On Friday and Saturday nights, the "drunk bus" used to brings students from the dorms to south campus where most campus parties take place. There is still 24 hour bussing between north and south campus but only every half hour.

This decision was made based on feedback from the university and local community.  Among the factors considered were students' transportation needs, students' access to labs, libraries and other educational resources, and students' desire for access to alcohol-free entertainment, as well as our neighbors' quality of life.

The complete bus schedule is posted to the website of UB's Office of Parking and Transportation.
