Antifreeze burns boater trying to fix engine

A boater on Chautauqua Lake received several burns after trying to fix his engine.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office says the operator of a 19 foot Four Winns brand boat experienced an engine overheating problem. When trying to fix it he removed the radiator cap which sprayed hot antifreeze all over him, resulting in multiple burns on his back, arms, and face.

Chautauqua County Sheriff's Navigation Deputies responded to the scene and helped the man. Bemus Point Fire Department Rescue was also there to help. Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Deputy/EMT was also there.

The man was transported by Bemus Point Fire Rescue to WCA Hospital for treatment.
