Misty Diaz was born with Spina Bifida, a birth defect that exposes the spine, and can cause a number of health issues.
She's had dozens of surgeries, but decided to face her challenges head-on.
She's now a competitive racer, and she's running the Buffalo half marathon Sunday.
She traveled to Buffalo from Los Angeles to run, and to meet with kids here who are also living with the condition.
She says for her this race is about acceptance.
