NEW YORK (WKBW) — Direct deposit of federal stimulus checks provided through the CARES Act will begin next week, an electronic form has also been set up for those who don't file tax returns.
Congressman Brian Higgins (D-NY) announced Friday direct deposits of the stimulus checks would begin next week (the week beginning April 13.)
Below are those who will receive a direct deposit, no further action needs to be taken.
- Those who provided direct deposit information to the IRS when filing their 2018 or 2019 tax return
- Those who receive Social Security retirement and Social Security Disability Insurance
- Those who receive Railroad Retirement benefits
For those who do not meet that criteria and will not receive a direct deposit, an electronic form has been set up by the IRS.
