After a very cool start to the month of May, a warm front flipped the switch to warm as it crossed WNY on Tuesday.  Temperatures returned to the 70s yesterday and will hit the 80s today & Thursday making it the warmest two day stretch since last September!

The warm air will have to pass over Lake Erie and at last check the temperature was still sitting at 50 degrees.  That 30 degree difference in temperature will keep the air in downtown Buffalo in the 70s while communities several miles inland will extend well into the 80s this afternoon.

A southwest wind will increase to 20-25mph with gusts occasionally past 35mph by this afternoon generating 3-4ft waves and a small craft advisory near the shores of Lake Erie while just a bad hair day inland :)

Nearly identical conditions will exist Thursday with the only change being some isolated T-Storms developing along the edge of the lake breeze boundary well south of Buffalo near Springville during the afternoon.
