All year long, Western New York athletes have turned out some of the best plays throughout the season.

From January, through December, high school teams and players have given us a reason to scream, shout, jump out of our chair and celebrate.

7 Eyewitness Sports Reporter Nick Filipowski looks back at the Top Moments of 2016.

#7 – Conner Buzby, Grand Island Football: Facing North Tonawanda, as the ball was snapped over his head, the GI star picked it up and threw a touchdown pass.

#6 – Emily Henrich, Orchard Park Rugy: Scored and converted both tries as OP secured its second straight rugby Championship, a 14-10 victory.

#5 – Davonte Gaines, Health Sciences Basketball: Two massive dunks you have to see to believe!

#4 – Number 4 – the Panama Lady Panthers. They run the table and secure the program’s first title in program.  The championship capped a perfect season for the Panthers, who finished 26-0.

#3 – Jacob Michalski, Lancaster Football: Trailing 35-34 in the final seconds against Orchard Park, after a blocked punt, Michalski grabbed the ball and raced for the game-winning touchdown.
