Charlotte is one of many areas getting slammed with snow. Travelers like Ann Finkle are watching the weather there closely.

Finkle is heading to Orlando by way of Charlotte Saturday morning for a seven day cruise. The North Tonawanda resident said the last few days have been stressful.

Finkle was originally supposed to fly into Newark. But several days ago she rescheduled her flight thinking Charlotte was the better choice.

“I have been biting my nails and praying that United would cancel all those flights that I thought were going to be bad because if they cancel, they would refund my money,” Finkle said. "Otherwise, I was paying for two trips instead of one."

Finkle said she didn’t have her trip insured. “This wouldn't have covered this. Mother Nature isn't covered.”

Despite Charlotte's current conditions, Finkle's confident she'll make it to her cruise ship in Orlando on time.

She may be in luck. Flights to Charlotte are expected to resume Saturday morning.

So Finkle hopes she'll be leaving some family behind for seven days of warm weather.
