Two charged with kidnapping in Albion

Two Albion men have been arrested and charged with a list of crimes including kidnapping after an incident that happened on Thursday in the Village of Albion. 

Village of Albion Police tell 7EWN that Demetrius Bennett, and Mark H. Bennett, both of Albion, were arrested after allegedly kidnapping a woman and holding her against her will.

At around 8:20 pm on November 2nd the Orleans County 911 Center received a report that a family member had been kidnapped. The individual who made the call said that they had received text messages from the victim giving a general location of her where she was being held.

Investigators used GPS tracking to narrow down 51 Beechwood Blvd as the location. Once on scene Albion Police Officers along with Deputies from the Orleans County Sheriff's Office and Troops from the New York State Police were able to make contact with 2 males inside that residence. Both were arrested.

The unidentified female victim was transported to Medina Memorial and then Strong Memorial Hospital after being found unresponsive inside the home. 

Investigators seized a quantity of narcotics from the residence while executing a search warrant. 

Demetrius Bennett who lived at 51 Beechwood is facing a list of charges including Unlawful Imprisonment and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

Mark H. Bennett has also been charged with Unlawful Imprisonment and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

Both are committed to the Orleans County Jail on $25,000 bail. They are to return to court on November 8th at 2:00pm.
