Our 7 Eyewitness News Team is digging deeper into an anonymous tip that came directly to our newsroom. It concerns employees at the Federal Detention Facility in Batavia.

The letter claims two kitchen workers and an AGS contract officer are currently suspended and facing possible termination. The letter goes on to claim the three were, "feeding Muslim detainees chicken out of the garbage for their Ramadan meals.

On Monday, we took these allegations straight to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.).  Officials released a statement confirming three contract workers have been placed on administrative leave while they investigate claims of alleged misconduct, but they would not go into specifics.

The statement goes on to say, "The safety, well-being and housing conditions of those in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody are of utmost importance to the agency."

At this point, 7 EWN has not independently confirmed the details spelled out by that anonymous tipster. But, I.C.E. officials makes it clear an investigation is underway and we'll be pursuing this story every step of the way.
