It's a shop that takes the handmade movement to a whole new level.

Buffalo ShopCraft started as a Holiday pop-up craft shop, and has now grown to a full time makers market.

"The ultimate goal of ShopCraft is so that makers can make a living doing what they're doing," said founder Christa Penner.

Penner is the managing partner of the art collective, that carries all local and handmade items. Penner, who is a digital illustrator wanted to create a space where artists could sell their goods year-round.

"We really enjoy the idea of creating a resource for artists. We are all out their trying to figure out how to run our own small business," she said.

ShopCraft has everything from pottery, jewelry and illustrations, to clothing and home decor. Each of the artists have a hand in making the shop what it is.

"I really like working with a group," said Alison Kurek, one of the artists. "It's great to come here and get inspired."

Buffalo ShopCraft strives to keep everything local and eco-conscious.

"We are working as a community here for the community," Penner said. "We want to not just have a space for the artists, but for people to come get whatever they need that's local and an eco-conscious choice."

ShopCraft is located in the back of Thin Ice on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
