The Buffalo Teachers Federation and Buffalo Public Schools reached a tentative agreement on a new contract after seven hours of negotiations on Sunday.

BTF president Phil Rumore and district superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash tell 7 Eyewitness News both sides have agreed to keep details of the contract confidential. The Buffalo Board of Education will hold a special meeting on Monday at 4 p.m. to vote on the contract. Meanwhile, Buffalo teachers will vote in an all-member meeting of the BTF at Kleinhans Music Hall starting at 5 p.m.

If both sides vote in favor of the contract, this would be the first contract ratified by the BTF and Buffalo schools in 12 years. Teachers in the district have been operating for 10 years without a contract.
