It has been nearly two months and still no arrest in the death of Upendra Bawa.

He was found dead in his apartment above his restaurant, Taste of Life, on Sycamore Street in July. According to Buffalo Police records, Bawa died from blunt force trauma.

Customers say Bawa was a private man who was very kind, giving, and known for his chicken wings.

"He served the best chicken wings in Buffalo, compared to Anchor Bar. It's very sad he died. He would give anything. He'll give people jobs," customer Treviaco Calhoun said.

His neighbor, Cheryl Ott, said she believes someone he knew is responsible for his death. She said his car is missing and they didn't hear a peep out of his dog, who usually barks at strangers.

"Living next door, we never heard the dog bark. So it's a possibility that somebody he knew and knew the dog," Ott said.

A small memorial sits outside the Taste of Life restaurant, a sad reminder of what was lost.

"It's said this neighborhood would kill a 60-year-old man and he minded his business," Calhoun said.

"It's very sad," Ott said.
