A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of a violent home invasion suspect.

Around 12:30 a.m. on December 1, deputies say Adeela Bonavito, 35, of Buffalo and Melvin Johnson, 38, of Buffalo kicked in the door to a home on Baseline Road on Grand Island. Once inside, they assaulted a woman and fled with the victim’s television.

The woman was able to identify her attackers and Bonavito was taken into custody last Tuesday. Johnson is still being sought.

Johnson is considered armed and dangerous and has an extensive criminal record. He is described as black, 5’11” tall and 180 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

He is wanted on charges of second degree robbery, burglary of a dwelling causing injury, assault, criminal mischief and petit larceny.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, call 716-867-6161.

Bonavito is behind bars in the Erie County Holding Center on $25,000 bail. She is charged with second degree robbery, second degree burglary, assault, third degree criminal mischief and petit larceny.
