A 17-year-old boy has was arraigned Wednesday morning on manslaughter charges in Cheektowaga Town Court, accused of causing injuries to his infant son that eventually led to his death.

Michael Fiorentino pleaded not guilty to second degree manslaughter charges in front of a Cheektowaga Town Justice. Fiorentino also waived his right to a felony hearing, sending the case to a grand jury.

Fiorentino is accused of shaking his 2-month-old son at a Cheektowaga home on Meadow Place, last October.

Firefighters were called to the home around 11 a.m. on October 24 because the infant was not breathing. The firefighters administered CPR before the ambulance arrived.

The boy died at Women and Children's Hospital a few days later.

Police say Fiorentino has been cooperating with police and voluntarily returned from Texas to surrender himself to police.

Fiorentino is being held on $50,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
