Orchard Park Police arrested a drunk driver with a blood alcohol content three times the legal limit on St. Patrick’s Day.

Police responded to a report of a van off the road at the Route 20A exit ramp of the 219 southbound expressway last night at 10:42 pm. Police found the driver, 46-year-old Michael Lamonte, of Boston, N.Y., intoxicated after a breathalyzer test showed he was three times the legal limit.

Lamonte was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated but had his charges upgraded to felonies after police learned he was previously convicted of DWI in Erie County in 2011.

Lamonte was released after posting $520 bail. He’s scheduled to appear in Orchard Park town court on March 28.

Orchard Park Police is participating in St. Patrick’s Day weekend’s Erie County STOP DWI crackdown. They’re encouraging those out this weekend to find a safe way home if they’ve been drinking.
