Dr. Frederick Gelsey has begun putting up signs on the East Side of Buffalo to educate the public on the link he believes exists between videogames/music, and homicide.

The signs read "Did you know our kids are being educated to commit homicide?" with his phone number, encouraging residents to contact him to learn more.

Dr. Gelsey began educating the public about the possible link between various forms of violent media and homicide after his son was killed on November 28th, 2011. Gelsey, a pastor at One in Christ Ministries, forgave his sons murderer and has used his death as a way to prevent other parents from losing their children.

"As a father I don't want to see another father or mother go through what I went through" Gelsey said.

Dr. Gelsey places his signs near traffic lights to encourage drivers to take a long look at them, and members of the community are noticing.

One resident said, "People need to pay attention to those signs because it is serious and is getting worse."

Tabitha Fryar, a resident who lives near One in Christ, believes these signs are a great idea, and should be expanded.

"We need more," Tabitha said, "I wouldn't mind it being in my yard."

Dr. Gelsey has ordered 100 more signs and plans to distribute them throughout the city.
