A woman is accused of starting a fire at a restaurant in Castile.

Amy Goodenow is charged with felony arson in relation to a fire that broke out at the Castile Diner in the early hours of February 15 around 12:30 a.m.

Goodenow is the owner of the establishment, which is located on Main Street. Investigators say she was at the restaurant when firefighters arrived.

Goodenow only owns the business, Steve Gitsis owns the building and its contents.

Several fire departments responded to the fire that morning, including Nunda, Pike, Silver Springs and Warsaw. Crews battled the fire for several hours.

Goodenow was arraigned in the Village of Castille court and bail was set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

She is out on bail and will return to court April 3.
