The oldest spectacled bear in the world was euthanized on Tuesday due to declining health.
Diana, who was 35, had been at the Buffalo Zoo since 1980. She has given birth to three cubs, who each had eight offspring of their own.
Spectacled bears live around 20-25 years in captivity and slightly less than that in the wild. There are believed to be fewer than 2,000 remaining in the wild.
