A local Police Chief is taking a firm stance on bringing ride-sharing to Western and Upstate New York.

Cheektowaga Police Chief David Zack, who is also the Executive Director of the New York State Association of Chiefs of Police sent a letter Monday to Governor Andrew Cuomo, urging him to pass legislation to bring ride-sharing services to Upstate New York.

This is the letter that was sent to Gov. Cuomo.

"Someone determined it (ride-sharing) was good enough for New York City...I live in Buffalo. What about my city?" said Chief Zack.

Zack says it's proven that ride-sharing has had an impact on reducing crashes related to alcohol and arrests.
