Tuesday was another day on Tonawanda Creek Road. Another day, like the 800 before it, where the stretch remains collapsed. Another day with no plan for a fix.
“It was broken down and collapsed in June of 2014. So, it's been two solid years,” said Ned Holderby, the pastor of St. Stephens UCC, located down the road.
Tuesday night the church was the site of a forum, led by Erie County Legislator Ed Rath, focused on the street's future.
“This is a huge priority and the road needs to be fixed as soon as possible,” said Legislator Rath.

Rath says the road might remain untouched for years. He says the money in the county is there, but the County Executive needs to prioritize the project to ensure the road is fixed and re-opened.
“I'm really hopeful that in 2017 this is the number one priority; that this project is planned for and bid, maybe in the winter time, so that come April this road can be constructed,” said Rath.
Another construction season is coming to an end, and for another year, Tonawanda Creek Road will be left untouched.
Legislator Rath says it's up to the Erie County Executive to prioritize road construction projects. We have reached to Mark Poloncarz' office about Tonawanda Creek Road, we're waiting to hear back.
