Narcotics raid: Seven arrested, large amounts of cocaine found

The Erie County Narcotics Unit found nearly a quarter kilo of cocaine during multiple raids on Friday.

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard says a warrant was executed at 194 Herkimer Street in Buffalo Friday morning. The Narcotics Unit says it found 60-grams of cocaine. The subject of the investigation, Rodney Pearson, 45, is a six-time convicted felon and currently on parole, according to the Sheriff's office.

Deputies say Pearson is charged with felony drug possession and dealing charges. He also received four misdemeanor charges of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and a charge for marijuana possession.

Pearson is being held at the Erie County Holding Center until his court proceedings.

During a second raid, six people were arrested after 110-grams of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found on Amherst Street in Buffalo. The Narcotics Unit says two suspects tried to leave during the scene in a car. A traffic stop was conducted and a search of the subjects and the car revealed over 28-grams of cocaine.

The following people were arrested in the dwelling on Amherst Street:

  • Jason Love, 30, charged with: criminal possession with intent to sell, criminal possession of a controlled substance (four ounces or more), and misdemeanor counts of criminal possession, and use of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession
  • Jasmine Peterson, 24, charged with: misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession
  • Samuel Freeman, 32, charged with: misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, thee counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession
  • Akeem Goodwin, 27, charged with: misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession.

The following people were arrested during the traffic stop:

  • Kelsey Lash, 39, charged with: felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
  • Maurice Fisher, 38, charged with: felony counts of criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a misdemeanor charge of criminal possession of a controlled substance and marijuana possession.

Jason Love is at the Erie County Holding Center until his court appearance. The other five defendants were released after posting bail.
