A call came in at 9:30 p.m. Friday night reporting a stabbing in the parking lot of 8315 Park Rd., near Batavia Downs, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies say they found a male subject had been stabbed in the throat when they arrived.
They administered first aid until Mercy Medics arrived.
The victim went to ECMC for treatment of serious injuries.
Upon further investigation, deputies found the incident originally occurred behind the shopping plaza at 4140 Veterans Memorial Dr.
According to officials, the victim made his way to the parking lot and someone called for help.
Batavia Police, New York State Police and security staff at Batavia Downs also assisted at the scene of the incident.
An investigation into the incident continues at this time.
