By all accounts, Lindsay Sullivan is your modern scientist. Sullivan is the owner of Elle Pea Tee, a Buffalo based small business that specializes in organic skincare.
"I want to make sure you are getting the highest quality product that I can possibly put out there," she said.
Sullivan says she became interested in making things, especially skin products and would give to family members for presents.
"I started making sugar scrubs and salt scrubs," she said. "I really liked making things with my hands."
So, she's taken her love for plants and herbs and turned it into something that can help others.
"It's sometimes the feedback that I've been getting from the women who have been using it, those are the things that let me know I'm on the right path. So many people forget about their most important organ, their skin. It's really important to take care of yourself from head to toe."
Sullivan spends weeks curating her products.
"I'll take fresh flowers and herbs and infuse them into an oil base for about 6-8 weeks just to really get the medicinal properties from these."
She credits her nursing background and a lot of research for her success.
Sullivan is now starting a line dedicated to pregnant and expecting women called Bee Maternal.
