Lewiston Police investigating distribution of racially charged fliers.
According to Lewiston Police, 10 to 20 flyers were left in people’s driveways on Chicora Road, Mohawk Street and Lower River Road.
The fliers were discovered sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Police tell us there were 3 versions of the flyers – one on illegal immigration, one on black on white crime and one espousing white power ideologies and ‘White Lives Matter”.
The Chief of police says the contents of the flyers appear to fall under free speech. The crime suspect(s) would be charged with in this case is littering.
